Applying to access your benefits
If you wish to access your benefits early, you must let the Pensions Office know the date you want your pension to be paid from.
We will automatically write to you when your deferred benefits are due to be paid, however you claim payment before this date.
You can do this by either:
- Applying online through your mypension account. Please go to the 'My Membership Details' tab and choose the 'Request Payment of My Pension' option to submit your request.
- Completing a application for early payments of benefits form (CARE65) form. Please send the completed form to Pensions Office, PO Box 212, South Shields, NE33 9ER.
